Italian model Vittoria Perzan became a photographer herself after several years in front of the fashion photographer's lens. Her agency had given her a walk-on, non-participatory, part in an erotic movie and she found the experience so compelling that she wanted to record it - as photographic art.
With intelligence, charm and beauty on her side, she quickly made friends with some of the directors, producers and actors of Cinema Hard - an Italian colloquialism for the porn movie business. With privileged access to an otherwise closed and secret world, she became almost invisible presence on various Italian hard core movie sets.
With an incredible eye for a picture, Vittoria takes position behind the
movie cameraman to capture stunning still photographs, both in rich colour
and crisp black and white, that cause one to stop and think: Can
pornography ever be art?
