Starkers! provides a safe and fun environment for anyone who enjoys being naked. We are currently the only regular nude club in London for men and women. We provide a vibrant, friendly, thoroughly modern "metro sexual" night, not just for naturists, but also fetishists, exhibitionists and opportunistic thrill seekers! People with body-related anxieties find that Starkers! does really help them realize that they are not just acceptable naked, but beautiful and sensual. We promote a highly-charged and naturally erotic atmosphere but discourage any actual sexual behaviour. We like our customers to leave something to the imagination and take any new partner home with them!
Starkers! ™ was founded in 2003 by Jamie Rocket in a Bohemian coffee shop in East London with Jamie being the "naked DJ. In 2004, Starkers! relocated to a Pub in Bethnal Green with 120 people at each party. Tragedy struck in May 2005 and the event was forced to close. It was in the weeks that followed while Starkers! was homeless that David Jaxx - a regular customer - invested in the business. Working as partners they soon got the club back up and running again, and in July 2005 Starkers re-opened at "South-Central" in Vauxhall. Cabaret and competition events were introduced to great acclaim. They needed more space, so in December 2005 they hosted the first monthly event at The Arches near London Bridge, with crowds of up to 300 people. Starkers! was now second only to Spencer Tunick in the number of people it got naked together at one time. The event ran into licensing problems when new regulations came in controlling nudity or partial nudity at all licensed venues. During this brief period we received an enormous amount of support and assistance from different quarters including organisations as diverse as the Sexual Freedom Coalition and the Metropolitan Police Service. We were also nominated for Event of the Year by the Erotic Awards.
We continued discussions with the Metropolitan Police - with whom we have always cooperated - and they began working on ways in which we could get complete legitimacy. In August 2006 with police support we applied for one of the first ever public nudity licenses and were eventually granted our application to host events at The Factory nightclub in Vauxhall as a "public nudity event".
We would like to thank the Erotic Awards, the SFC and tireless support and the officers of Lambeth Police for all of their help and advice. Starkers! will be bringing you a taster of our events at the Night of the Senses
For the privacy of our customers, journalists will only be received by appointment only.
