Hallie Rubenhold

Hallie Rubenhold was born in Los Angeles to English parents, studied history at the University of Massachusetts and history and the history of art at the University of Leeds where she received her two postgraduate degrees. Her area of expertise is eighteenth century social history; with an emphasis on women and sexuality. In addition to writing, Hallie also works with the media and has recently presented a documentary based on her book, The Covent Garden Ladies entitled The Harlots Handbook for BBC4. Additionally, she acts as an historical consultant for period dramas. She is currently writing her next book, Lady Worsley's Whim which tells the lurid story of one of the eighteenth century's most shocking divorces.
