WINNER, BENT: A Journal of Cripgay Voices.

Bob Guter created BENT: A Journal of CripGay Voices in 1999. When asked, recently, why he thought BENT had been nominated for an Erotic Award, he quoted The Annenberg School of Communication's Online Journalism Review, which called BENT Frank, edgy, unflinching, and sexually explicit.

Guter created the non-profit webzine to give gay, bisexual, and transgender men an opportunity to tell each other what it's like to live in a world where queerness and disability collide. BENT remains the only place online where gay men with disabilities create a common culture through first- person essays, fiction, poetry, and commentary, an achievement recognized by the Utne Reader when it chose BENT for its Best of the Alternative Web.

Bob Guter continues to publish and edit BENT. He co-edited the anthology "Queer Crips," winner of a Lambda Literary Award. His writing has appeared in the James White Review and Fresh Men: New Voices in Gay Fiction.
