The Robert Crumb Handbook

A treasure chest of work by a man we consider to have been of enormous influence, with his crazy sex cartoons, anarchic self-portraits and tributes to women with big legs. He made people feel more comfortable about having an 'ordinary' fetish, and gave those of us who love quirky sex a soul mate. Well done to mq publications for creating this compilation of his work, including a CD of his French café music.

Biography

Robert Crumb began his amazing career over forty years ago when, as an underground cartoonist during the Summer of Love, he created ZAP COMIX and a horde of unforgettable characters: Fritz the Cat, Mr Natural, The Snoid, and Devil Girl, to name but a few. Ever since then, fame has dogged Crumb's footsteps. Not being a particularly fast runner, film makers have managed to capture the artist in two award-winning documentaries about his life and work, and now art museums in Europe and America are exhibiting R.Crumb's drawings and cartoons to critical acclaim.

Robert Crumb was born in Philadelphia in 1943. He now keeps a low profile by living in the south of France with his wife and fellow artist, Aline Kominsky-Crumb. From there Crumb continues his eternal quests for old 78rpm records, while seeking inspiration from women blessed with large bottoms, strong legs and thick ankles.
