GMFA (Gay Men Fighting AIDS) prides itself on being a gay men's health organisation aiming to prevent HIV transmission, as well as celebrating gay sex and sexuality. As a charity, it promotes action for gay men's health, producing a jazzy, informative and highly accessible magazine, F:S. Their safer sex courses tour the country, with lessons as diverse as self defence and chatting-up skills. Their sauna parties for black men, Bootilicious, are the talk of South London. GMFA conduct outreach and sexual abuse work, community interventions and mass media campaigns. In an ideal world, everything they do should be provided, or at least financed, directly by the government, so we have decided to support GMFA to encourage all their volunteers, and commend the tremendous fund-raising effort required to run the service.
