At a time when sex shops selling porn in New York City are being shut down, and the Religious and Moral Right attempt to censor all types of media in France, back in England Paul Tavener emerges as a quiet but eloquent hero, taking on the Herculean task of bringing hardcore porn to pay-to-view television viewers.

His campaign comes at a crucial time when the ITC (Independent Television Commission) is about to be replaced by Ofcom. The latter has announced a consultation period, so Paul needs your support NOW- so that the new regulatory body hears loud and clear that British TV viewers want freedom of choice.

My name is Paul Tavener and I am campaigning to force the authorities in this country to end the censorship of explicit sex in erotic entertainment on subscription television, specifically for pay-to-view channels broadcast from within the UK and available though Sky.

If there was ever a time to change the rules then this is it!

There will be major changes to TV regulation this year due to the introduction of new more liberal laws and a change in the TV regulator. The Independent Television Commission (ITC) is to be replaced by Ofcom in December 2003. Ofcom will be asking the public for their views on TV regulation at some point after they take over from the ITC. There is every chance that Ofcom will deregulate in this area if there is sufficient popular support for a change.

All you then need do is respond to them (probably via a short online questionnaire) asking for hardcore to be legalised on subscription TV. I will supply further information when it is available.
